He was again recognized by the Golden Globes for his interpretation of Paul Snider in Bob Fosse's Star 80 (1983). William Charles Anthony "Bill" Gaunt is an English actor.

After minor roles in 1960s series such as Z-Cars and The Avengers, and the Edgar Wallace Mysteries movies The Sinister Man (1961) and Solo for Sparrow (1962), he gained a role as the super-powered secret agent Richard Barrett in the 1968 British espionage/science fiction series The Champions. He had also appeared in a recurring role in Sergeant Cork following policemen in Victorian London.

1957 – Levar Burton

Levardis Robert Martyn “LeVar” Burton Jr. is an American actor, presenter, director and author. He is best known for his roles as the host of the long-running PBS children’s series Reading Rainbow, Lt. Commander Geordi La Forge in Star Trek: The Next Generation and the young Kunta Kinte in the 1977 award-winning ABC television miniseries Roots. He has also directed a number of television episodes for various iterations of Star Trek, among other programs.

1957 – Malcolm Shotton

Malcolm Shotton is an English former professional footballer and manager. He was on the books of Leicester City as an apprentice but failed to make the break into senior football there. He played for Atherstone United and Nuneaton Borough in non-league football before signing for Oxford United in 1980. He formed a notable defensive partnership with Gary Briggs and went on to become captain of the side as they rose from Division Three to Division One. His finest moment as captain was lifting the Milk Cup at Wembley Stadium in April 1986. At the end of the following season he was transferred to Portsmouth. He later played for Huddersfield Town, Barnsley, Hull City and Ayr United and, after his playing career ended, served as assistant manager at Barnsley.

In 1998 he returned to Oxford as manager, replacing Malcolm Crosby. His appointment was popular and initially successful, as he led the team out of relegation danger to a creditable 12th-place finish in Division One. However, United were relegated to Division Two at the end of the following season, and Shotton resigned in October 1999, with the club in serious danger of a second successive relegation.

Shotton later served as assistant manager at Bradford City, Director of Football at Loughborough University and manager of Barnsley College Academy Team.

Shotton plaued 12 times for Portsmouth in 1987

David Ian Crown is a retired English professional football forward who played in the Football League, most notably for Cambridge United and Southend United. He also played for Reading, Gillingham, Brentford, Portsmouth and Exeter City. He later player-managed Purfleet in non-league football and after retiring, was assistant manager at former club Southend United.
