|James William Dickinson MBE was an English footballer.Dickinson holds the record for number of league appearances for Portsmouth (764). Only Swindon Town's John Trollope (770) has made more appearances for a single club.
Dickinson played 834 times for Portsmouth scoring 10 goals between 1946 – 1965. He was Portsmouth manager between 1977 – 1979
