Little Italy

Trailer

PLOTNikki and Leo both grow up in Toronto’s Little Italy neighborhood, where their families are running a pizza business together. However, the verbal conflict between Nikki’s father Sal and Leo’s father Vince has caused their pizza business to deteriorate, thus resulting in them respectively founding their own pizza businesses next door to each other, which in turn results in Nikki leaving the family to go to London to study cooking. However, Chef Corinne temporarily gives Nikki a break for two weeks to give time for her to work on a cooking menu for the upcoming cooking exhibit.

Upon arriving home in Toronto, Nikki meets Leo at the bar and they drunkenly play soccer in a midst of the thunderstorm. The next day, she is welcomed by her family on her arrival. Vince, Leo and other crew are later arrested for lacing the pizza with marijuana during the party but they are released shortly after. Leo later forms a relationship with Nikki and they sleep together after riding around the town, reliving their childhood memories. Nikki receives a call from Corinne, saying that she wants a cooking menu, otherwise she will promote another chef. Struggling, Nikki expresses her regrets to Leo and confronts him for focusing on soccer instead of the pizza business. Meanwhile, their respective grandparents, Franca and Carlo, become engaged (due to the fact that they have been in love with each other for years and were never rivals from the start). Franca finally agrees to marry Carlo despite a promise from her late husband not to remarry.

Franca and Carlo arrange a dinner for the families. During the dinner Franca and Carlo announce their engagement, causing Sal and Vince to begin exchanging insults. Vince decides to enter a pizza competition against Sal saying that whoever loses will “go out” from “Little Italy”. When the two realize that they are banned from the competition because of a fallout during a previous competition, they decide to have Nikki and Leo enter the competition. Nikki refuses to compete, and she and Leo start arguing about who let who win in soccer when they were kids. When Nikki says that Leo won every time because she let him win, Leo says, “Yeah, like you let me win last night,” alluding to them sleeping together. She slaps him and storms out in anger.

At the competition, Leo is declared the winner and Nikki departs to the airport for London. However, Leo refuses to take the trophy after he realizes that Nikki had purposely switched their sauces so that Leo would stay in Little Italy. Realizing that Nikki has gone to the airport, Leo and the family goes after her. They catch her and Leo pledges to stay with her as she is the only one he wanted, not the pizza or the war between their fathers. Nikki departs, but shortly after, comes back, and Nikki declares her love to Leo after they kiss. After that, they ask Sal and Vince about their fight, in which they admit that the fight was about their parents Franca and Carlo. Back in 1999, after winning the competition, Sal and Vince argued about naming the winning pizza after their respective parent, resulting in the beginning of the rivalry. Franca and Carlo finally announce that they are getting married. Sal and Vince hug each other, formally ending the rivalry.

Some time later, the families celebrate at the pizza restaurant where Nikki has invited Corinne, who reveals that she had to shut down her restaurant after receiving negative reviews from critics. Nikki and Leo, along with the other crew, all dance together.

Celeste And Jesse Forever

Trailer

PLOTCeleste (Rashida Jones) and Jesse (Andy Samberg) start dating in high school and eventually marry young. Their relationship is shown in a photo montage; the montage ends with Celeste walking away from Jesse during a party.

Celeste and Jesse still get along well. Celeste is a successful trend analyzer and runs her own media company with her partner, Scott (Elijah Wood). Celeste’s media company has just signed Riley Banks (Emma Roberts), a teen pop star whom Celeste does not respect and had openly bashed during a previous television interview. Jesse is an unemployed artist in no hurry to find a job.

Celeste decides to separate but promises to stay friends and date other people. Jesse passively agrees, still in love with her and hoping for her to come back around. Celeste and Jesse’s continuing closeness after their separation and in the process of divorcing becomes increasingly annoying to their mutual, engaged best friends, Beth (Ari Graynor) and Tucker (Eric Christian Olsen). Beth tries to reason with Celeste and Jesse about their weirdness of their arrangement, but Celeste rationalizes that it is better for the two to maintain their friendship. Their other mutual friend, Skillz (Will McCormack), agrees that it is time for the two to move on with their lives.

Celeste is at first content with her current situation until they spend a night together. Realizing that a reconciliation is not possible, Jesse finally decides to move out while ignoring Celeste’s apologies. One day, Jesse announces that his new girlfriend, Veronica, is pregnant, which does not sit well with Celeste. She expresses her concern to Beth, who questions her about having second thoughts with the divorce. To distract herself, Celeste takes up exercising and dates other people.

During her date with Max (Rich Sommer), Celeste runs into Jesse. The encounter becomes awkward for Celeste, but not for Max who gets along with Jesse. Having gone through his own divorce, Max then confronts Celeste that she’s not ready to be dating again and to take her time. After a few more awkward dates with other men, Celeste meets Paul (Chris Messina) in yoga class and dresses him down for trying to hit on her before eventually warming up to him after meeting him again at a party. Jesse takes on more responsibility for Veronica and matures along the way. Celeste realizes that her decision to divorce Jesse was impulsive and selfish, and wants to reunite with him. They then fight and go their separate ways on bad terms.

Celeste later gets a call from Riley asking her to come over. Celeste believes that Riley is angry over the logo she designed for her that unintentionally resembles a penis penetrating a butt, which sparks controversy with her tween fanbase. She arrives at Riley’s house to find her in tears. Riley reveals that she has had a secret boyfriend, who she discovered has been cheating on her. They form an unexpected bond over their shared heartbreak and become friends. At a nightclub with Riley, Celeste realizes the logo appeals to Riley’s gay fan base, and they could leverage this to make her the next Lady Gaga. While walking with Riley, Celeste runs into Rupert (Rafi Gavron) a young, attractive model she had rejected after an awkward date and introduces him to Riley.

At Beth and Tucker’s wedding, Celeste makes a toast. She tells the newlyweds to appreciate each other, be patient, and try harder, like she should have. This speech touches Jesse, and he thanks Celeste.

On a karaoke date, Celeste informs Paul of her need to take some time to recover from the divorce, which he says he understands. We then see Celeste and Jesse finally signing their divorce papers and laughing at each other’s inside jokes. Their lawyers look on, confused by their laughter. Celeste wishes Jesse well. She finally asks Jesse if he loves Veronica, to which he responds that he does. Celeste encourages him to keep fighting for it and they have one last kiss.

Adult World

Trailer

PLOTRecent college graduate Amy believes she's destined to be a great poet. Pressed by her parents to earn a living, she takes a job at a small sex shop, Adult World, where she works with the manager, Alex. When her car is stolen, her parents discover that she had canceled the car's theft insurance to afford submission fees for poetry journals, and kick her out. She briefly moves in with a coworker, trans woman Rubia, before finding her own apartment.

She meets one of her favorite poets, Rat Billings, and talks her way into being his protégée by offering to clean his house. After some cajoling, Billings reads her poetry and offers to feature her work in an anthology he is working on. One night, she gets drunk and makes a clumsy attempt to seduce him, but he rebuffs her advances.

Alex fires Amy after she fails to catch a shoplifter; angered, she says she is too good to work there. She soon discovers that she misses Alex, however, and realizes that she has feelings for him. She apologizes to him and asks for her job back. Alex rehires her, and they begin hanging out. At Amy's birthday party, Billings gives her a copy of the poetry anthology he featured her work in—Shit Poems: An Anthology of Bad Verse. Furious and humiliated, she confronts him and calls him a has-been. She goes home and tries to commit suicide by asphyxiating herself with a plastic bag, but changes her mind at the last second.

The next day, she makes peace with Billings: he tells her that she needs to do more living before she can fulfill her potential as a writer, while she tells him not to take himself so seriously. Later, she sleeps with Alex, and they become a couple. She finds out she has been published in an erotica magazine that she submitted prose to as a joke. She and Alex go to a party together to celebrate, and he encourages her to keep writing. The film ends with Amy reading Shit Poems with a smile on her face.

In the epilogue, next to the credits, she becomes a well-known poet and arranges her first poetry book on a shelf in a bookstore to be more prominently shown.

Nancy Drew, an amateur sleuth, and her widowed father, Carson Drew, move from their quaint hometown River Heights to California, where Carson has a temporary job. Carson encourages Nancy to focus on living like a normal teenager, instead of getting herself into trouble with crime- and mystery-solving. However, unbeknownst to Carson, Nancy chose their California house because of its famously unsolved mystery of the death of the movie star Dehlia Draycott. Nancy struggles to fit in at her new school, only befriending a younger boy, Corky. She wears 50’s outfits and penny loafers, becoming subject to teasing from Corky’s older sister and her best friend. After discovering many clues about the Draycott mystery, she begins secretly sleuthing behind her father’s back. Nancy eventually finds Draycott’s lost child, Jane Brighton, who turns out to be the sole beneficiary of Draycott’s will, which has disappeared. Nancy contacts her father’s business associate, Dashiel Biedermeyer, the lawyer of the Draycott estate, to assist her with the case.

Meanwhile, as an early birthday present, Ned Nickerson, Nancy’s good friend with implied romantic interest, visits from River Heights. Corky becomes jealous of Nancy and Ned’s close relationship and tries his best to get Nancy’s attention. Nancy begins experiencing worsening attacks against her as she learns that someone does not want her to solve the case. One afternoon, a tearful Jane arrives on Nancy’s doorstep and announces that her daughter has been taken away from her. While watching a Dehlia Draycott film, Nancy realizes that Draycott has hidden her will in a prop from one of her last movies. After retrieving the will, Nancy is kidnapped by the villain’s henchmen. Nancy escapes with the will but gets into a car crash. Her father arrives and demands to know what is going on. After explaining her sleuthing, Biedermeyer offers them a ride home so he can finalize the legacy to Jane.

Nancy concludes that Biedermeyer was Dehlia Draycott’s supposed love who stands to lose money if the will goes to Jane. However, when he questions Nancy about the will, she manages to jump out of the car. She is caught by Biedermeyer who threatens her; when Nancy asks him why he killed Dehlia, he replies that Dehlia went crazy after she put Jane up for adoption, and wanted to leave to be with her caretaker Leshing. Nancy escapes but is once again cornered. Leshing arrives and knocks the henchmen unconscious as Nancy reveals that she secretly recorded Biedermeyer’s confession. While the police arrive to arrest Biedermeyer, Nancy reveals to Leshing that Jane is his daughter. The will is restored to Jane, who is able to get her daughter back and convert the Draycott mansion into a home for single mothers.

Back at River Heights, Nancy visits Ned as he repairs her car and they share a kiss. She receives a long-distance phone call regarding a new mystery in Scotland.
