Patrick George Troughton was an English actor. He was classically trained for the stage but became most widely known for his roles in television and film. His work included appearances in several fantasy, science fiction and horror films, but he became best known for his role as the second incarnation of the Doctor in the long-running British science-fiction television series Doctor Who, which he played from 1966 to 1969; he reprised the role in 1973, 1983 and 1985.

Richard O'Brien (born Richard Smith) is a British-New Zealand actor, television presenter, musician, writer, voice artist and theatre performer.

O'Brien wrote the musical stage show The Rocky Horror Show, which has remained in almost continuous production. He also co-wrote the screenplay of the film adaptation, The Rocky Horror Picture Show released in 1975, appearing in the film as Riff Raff.

1958 – Gary Numan

Gary Anthony James Webb, known professionally as Gary Numan, is an English singer, songwriter, composer, musician and record producer. Born in Hammersmith, West London, he first entered the music industry as lead singer of the new wave band Tubeway Army. After releasing two albums with the band, Numan released his debut solo album The Pleasure Principle in 1979. With number-one singles “Are ‘Friends’ Electric?” and “Cars”, Numan achieved his peak of mainstream popularity in the late 1970s and early 1980s, but maintains a cult following. His signature sound consists of heavy synthesiser hooks fed through guitar effects pedals, and he is considered a pioneer of commercial electronic music. Numan is also known for his distinctive voice and androgynous “android” persona. In 2017 he received an Ivor Novello Award, the Inspiration Award, from the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors.

1981 – Nicky Shorey

Nicholas Robert Shorey is an English former professional footballer who played as a left back or a defensive midfielder. He is a coach at League Two club Stevenage.

After beginning his career at Leyton Orient, Shorey moved to Reading in 2001, where he made just under 300 appearances over seven years while helping the team reach the Premier League. He joined Aston Villa in 2008, but was limited to fewer than 40 appearances over two seasons. While with Villa, Shorey was loaned out to Nottingham Forest and Fulham. He joined West Bromwich Albion for £1.3 million in July 2010, making 53 Premier League appearances over two seasons with the club. After four years away from the club, Shorey rejoined Reading in July 2012, but could only manage 21 appearances when he joined Bristol City the following season. He spent just five months with City before joining Portsmouth in January 2014, and then Indian Super League club Pune City in the summer of 2015 for the forthcoming season. After playing in every match for Pune City, Shorey returned to England in January 2016 with League One club Colchester United. He finished his playing career with National League South club Hungerford Town.

Shorey has represented England at full international level on two occasions, with both appearances made at Wembley Stadium in 2007 against Brazil and Germany. He also made one appearance for the England B team.

1926 – Leslie Nielsen

Leslie William Nielsen, OC was a Canadian actor, comedian, and producer. He appeared in more than 100 films and 150 television programs, portraying more than 220 characters.

Nielsen was born in Regina, Saskatchewan. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force and later worked as a disc jockey before receiving a scholarship to study theatre at the Neighborhood Playhouse. Making his acting debut in 1950, appearing in 46 live television programs a year. Nielsen made his film debut in 1956, with supporting roles in several drama, western, and romance films produced between the 1950s and the 1970s.

Although his notable performances in the films Forbidden Planet and The Poseidon Adventure gave him standing as a serious actor, Nielsen later gained enduring recognition for his deadpan comedy roles during the 1980s, after being cast against type for the Zucker, Abrahams and Zucker comedy film Airplane!. In his comedy roles, Nielsen specialized in portraying characters oblivious to and complicit in their absurd surroundings. Nielsen’s performance in Airplane! marked his turning point, which make him “the [Laurence] Olivier of spoofs” according to film critic Roger Ebert, and leading to more further success in the genre with The Naked Gun film series, based on the earlier short-lived television series Police Squad!, in which Nielsen also starred. Nielsen received a variety of awards and was inducted into the Canada and Hollywood Walks of Fame.

Richard K. Franklin is an English actor, writer, director and political activist. Principally a stage actor, he has also appeared as a regular character in several high-profile British television programmes, including Crossroads, Emmerdale Farm, and most notably in the BBC science fiction television series Doctor Who, in which he portrayed Captain Mike Yates of UNIT. Franklin initially played the part from 1971 until 1974, but has returned to the role on a number of occasions both on television and in Doctor Who spin-off media. Franklin is a prolific dramatist and author of books such as "Forest Wisdom: Radical Reform of Democracy and the Welfare State" reflecting his left-wing political views and activism, as well as novels based in the Doctor Who universe.

Anni-Frid Synni Lyngstad, commonly known as Frida Lyngstad, or just by the mononym, Frida, is a Norwegian-born Swedish singer, songwriter, and environmentalist. Known for her warm personality, striking auburn hair and rich mezzo-soprano voice, she is best known as one of the lead singers of the Swedish pop band ABBA.

Darryl Anthony Powell is a sports agent and former professional footballer who made more than 350 appearances in the Football League and Premier League and played international football for the Jamaican national team. He usually played as a central midfielder.

The son of a Reggae musician, he was born in Lambeth, London, and his career included spells at English clubs Portsmouth, Derby County, Birmingham City, Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest, as well as a stint at Colorado Rapids in the USA. Along with his Derby team-mate Deon Burton he was one of the Reggae Boyz playing for Jamaica in France 98.

Powell has also appeared as a guest on the beach soccer circuit, playing for the England national beach soccer team in an exhibition game in Birmingham.

Jonathan Lee Miller is an English-American film, television and theatre actor. He achieved early success for his portrayal of Simon “Sick Boy” Williamson in the dark comedy drama film Trainspotting (1996) and as Dade Murphy in Hackers (1995), before earning further critical recognition for his performances in Afterglow (1997), Mansfield Park (1999), The Flying Scotsman (2006), Endgame (2009) and T2 Trainspotting (2016); for The Flying Scotsman he received a London Film Critics’ Circle nomination for Actor of the Year. 2014 – Valery Mezague

Born: 8 December 1983

Válery Mézague was a Cameroonian footballer. He was a midfielder and last played for Sporting Toulon Var.

A French-born player, Mézague represented Cameroon at international level. His most notable moment with the Lions Indomptables was at the 2003 FIFA Confederations Cup, where he became the starter central midfielder in the lost final against host France, after replacing the late Marc-Vivien Foé during the victorious semifinal versus Colombia.

In 2003, he was involved in a serious car crash which ruled him out of the game for four months. Despite this he fought back to reclaim his form and his performances attracted the attention of Harry Redknapp, with Mézague joining Portsmouth F.C. on loan for the 2004/05 season. However, he failed to make any sort of substantial impression and returned to France in June 2005, where he followed his former manager at Portsmouth Alain Perrin to FC Sochaux-Montbéliard.
