1943 – Chevy Chase

Cornelius Crane “Chevy” Chase is an American actor and comedian. Born into a prominent New York family, he worked a variety of jobs before moving into comedy and began acting with National Lampoon. He became a key cast member in the debut season of Saturday Night Live, where his recurring Weekend Update segment soon became a staple of the show. As both a performer and writer, he earned three Primetime Emmy Awards out of five nominations.

Chase had his first leading film role in the comedy Foul Play (1978), earning two Golden Globe Award nominations. He is further known for his portrayals of Clark Griswold in five National Lampoon’s Vacation films and Irwin “Fletch” Fletcher in both Fletch (1985) and Fletch Lives (1989). Other prominent titles include Caddyshack (1980), Seems Like Old Times (1980), Spies Like Us (1985), ¡Three Amigos! (1986), Memoirs of an Invisible Man (1992), Orange County (2002) and Hot Tub Time Machine (2010). He has hosted the Academy Awards twice (1987 and 1988) and briefly had his own late-night talk show, The Chevy Chase Show (1993). He played the character Pierce Hawthorne on the NBC comedy series Community from 2009 to 2012.

Ardal O’Hanlon is an Irish comedian and actor. He played Father Dougal McGuire in Father Ted, George Sunday/Thermoman in My Hero, and DI Jack Mooney in Death in Paradise.

Aaron Richard Ashmore is a Canadian film and television actor. He is known for his roles on American television series, such as Jimmy Olsen on Smallville and Steve Jinks on Warehouse 13. He plays Johnny Jaqobis on the Canadian television series Killjoys. He is the identical twin brother of actor Shawn Ashmore.

1982 – Jermain Defoe

Jermain Colin Defoe is an English professional footballer who plays as a striker for Premier League club Bournemouth and the England national team.

Defoe began his career with Charlton Athletic, joining their youth team aged 14, before moving to West Ham United aged 16 and rising through the ranks. He made his first-team debut for West Ham in 2000, and after a season-long loan spell at Bournemouth during the 2000–01 season, established himself in the West Ham line-up. After West Ham’s relegation in 2003, a move to Tottenham Hotspur in January 2004 soon followed, where Defoe played for four years before being sold to Portsmouth in January 2008. He spent one season at Fratton Park before returning to Tottenham in the January 2009 transfer window. He left for Toronto FC of Major League Soccer (MLS) in 2014, before returning to England in January 2015 to sign for Sunderland.

Defoe made his England debut in 2004 and has made 56 appearances, scoring 20 goals, including three appearances and a goal at the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

1948 – Russell Mael

Russell Craig Mael is an American singer, songwriter and record producer.

Mael’s music career spans more than 50 years. With his elder brother Ron, he formed the pop band Sparks in 1971, which was renamed from Halfnelson. He is also the co-founder of Lil’ Beethoven Records.

1950 – Dave Thomas

Dave Thomas is a former professional footballer and England international who played as a midfielder. An extremely skillful and fast player, for much of his career his trademark was playing without shin pads; something that would be contrary to the rules of the game today.

He made his senior debut in Burnley’s 8-1 defeat to West Bromwich Albion in the 1966/67 season.

He had a long and successful playing career, playing for almost 20 years and totalling over 450 league appearances whilst playing for Burnley, QPR, Everton, Vancouver Whitecaps, Middlesbrough, Portsmouth and Wolverhampton Wanderers. He won 8 England caps overall whilst at Queens Park Rangers. His first England cap was given to him by manager Don Revie on 30 October 1974 in a 3–0 win against Czechoslovakia. He set up the first goal in the game. In 1981, he played a single summer season with the Vancouver Whitecaps in the North American Soccer League.

Kate Elizabeth Winslet, CBE, is an English actress. Elena Sergeevna Katina, better known as Lena Katina, is a Russian singer and songwriter who is best known for her work with Russian duo t.A.T.u. She started her career at the age of eight joining the Russian children’s act Avenue, and soon after that, joining Neposedi. In 1999 Ivan Shapovalov chose Lena Katina for his project, t.A.T.u., as well as Julia Volkova. The duo would later become Russia’s most successful pop music act. The group produced several hits including “All the Things She Said”, “Not Gonna Get Us” and “All About Us”. Their first single “All The Things She Said” peaked at number one in 19 countries including the UK, Russia and Australia.

Kevin Eldon is an English actor and comedian. He featured in British comedy television shows of the 1990s including Fist of Fun, Knowing Me, Knowing You with Alan Partridge, Big Train, Brass Eye and Jam. In 2013 he appeared in his own BBC sketch series, It’s Kevin. Eldon has appeared in minor speaking roles in the HBO series Game of Thrones.

Lena Headey is an English actress, voice actress and film producer.

After being scouted at age 17, Headey worked steadily as an actress in small and supporting roles in films throughout the 1990s, before finding fame for her lead performances in big-budget films such as the fantasy film The Brothers Grimm (2005), the action film 300 (2007), portraying Gorgo, Queen of Sparta, and the adventure and biographical film The Red Baron (2008).

Headey is best known for portraying Cersei Lannister in HBO’s hit fantasy series Game of Thrones since 2011, a performance that has earned her three consecutive Emmy award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series (2014–16) and a Golden Globe Awards nomination for Best Supporting Actress – Series, Miniseries or Television Film in 2016. In 2017, Headey became one of the highest paid actors on television and could earn up to £2 million per episode of Game of Thrones (based on shared percentages of syndication payments). Ashley Nicolle Ross, known by the stage name Ashlee Simpson, is an American singer-songwriter and actress. The younger sister of pop singer and actress Jessica Simpson, Ashlee began appearing in television commercials at the age of 15. She later pursued a career as an actress, and had a recurring role on the family drama 7th Heaven. Her breakout came following her appearance on the reality show Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica (2003–05), which focused on her sister Jessica and her then-husband Nick Lachey. While working on her debut studio album, Simpson became the star of her own spin-off reality series, The Ashlee Simpson Show (2004–05). The show became a ratings hit, and earned Simpson widespread recognition. Avery Franklin Brooks is an American actor, director, and singer. He is best known for his television roles as Benjamin Sisko on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, as Hawk on Spenser: For Hire and its spinoff A Man Called Hawk, and as Dr. Bob Sweeney in the Academy Award-nominated film American History X.

1958 – Martin Cooper

Martin Cooper is a painter and a musician. He is the secondary keyboardist and occasional saxophonist for the band Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, whom he first joined in 1980.

1962 – Paul Walsh

Paul Anthony Walsh is a former England international footballer who now works as a television pundit.

A pacey and skilful forward, he scored a total of 127 goals in 521 league games in a 17-year career in the Football League and Premier League; he also won five senior caps for England in an eleven-month international career beginning in June 1983. He began his career at Charlton Athletic, making his first team debut aged 16 in September 1979. He helped Charlton to win promotion out of the Third Division in 1980–81, and then won a place on the PFA Team of the Year in 1981–82. He moved from the Second Division into the First Division when Luton Town paid £400,000 to acquire his services in July 1982. He continued to impress, and was named as PFA Young Player of the Year in 1984. He moved to Liverpool for a £700,000 fee in May 1984, and was named in the PFA Team of the Year in his debut season for the club as Liverpool won the league title and the Football League Super Cup. He went on to struggle with injury at Anfield, though still managed to appear in losing finals of the 1984 FA Charity Shield, 1984 European Super Cup, 1985 European Cup, and 1987 Football League Cup, as well as help Liverpool to the league title and FA Cup double in 1985–86, and to finish as runners-up in the league in 1984–85 and 1986–87.

He was sold on to Tottenham Hotspur for a £500,000 fee in February 1988 and played for Spurs in their 1991 FA Cup Final victory over Nottingham Forest. However, he was frozen out of the first team after punching a coach at the club, and after a brief loan spell at Queens Park Rangers was moved on to Portsmouth for a £400,000 fee in June 1992. A popular player at Fratton Park, supporters voted him Player of the Season in 1992–93 and he was named on the PFA Team of the Year in 1993–94. He returned to the top-flight with Manchester City after being signed for £750,000 in March 1994. He returned to Portsmouth for a £600,000 fee in September 1995, but was forced to retire due to cruciate ligament damage in February 1996. After retiring as a player he became a football pundit, and became a regular face on Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday. His son, Mason, plays for A.F.C. Bournemouth.

Brianne Sidonie Desaulniers, known professionally as Brie Larson, is an American actress, musician and director. Born in Sacramento, California, Larson was home schooled before she studied acting at the American Conservatory Theater. She began her acting career in television, appearing as a regular on the 2001 sitcom Raising Dad, for which she was nominated for a Young Artist Award.

As a teenager, Larson had brief roles in the 2004 films 13 Going on 30 and Sleepover. Her performance in the comedy film Hoot (2006) was praised, and she subsequently played supporting roles in the films Greenberg (2010), Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010), 21 Jump Street (2012), and Don Jon (2013). From 2009 to 2011, Larson featured as a rebellious teenager in the television series United States of Tara.

Larson’s breakthrough role came with the independent drama Short Term 12 (2013), for which she received critical acclaim. Further success came in 2015 when she starred in Room, an acclaimed drama based on Emma Donoghue’s novel of the same name. She won several awards for her portrayal in the film of a troubled mother kidnap victim in the film, including the Academy Award, BAFTA Award, Critic’s Choice Award, Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and Canadian Screen Award for Best Actress. 2013 – Tom Clancy

Born: 12 April 1947

Thomas Leo “Tom” Clancy Jr. was an American novelist best known for his technically detailed espionage and military-science story lines set during and after the Cold War. Seventeen of his novels were bestsellers, and more than 100 million copies of his books are in print. His name was also used on movie scripts written by ghost writers, nonfiction books on military subjects, and video games. He was a part-owner of the Baltimore Orioles and vice-chairman of their community activities and public affairs committees.

Clancy’s literary career began in 1984 when he sold The Hunt for Red October for $5,000. His works, The Hunt for Red October (1984), Patriot Games (1987), Clear and Present Danger (1989), and The Sum of All Fears (1991), have been turned into commercially successful films. Actors Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck, and Chris Pine have played Clancy’s most famous fictional character, Jack Ryan; his second-most famous character, John Clark, has been played by actors Willem Dafoe and Liev Schreiber.

Michael Paul Tait is an English former footballer and later a manager at the end of his playing career. His 760 league games puts him 13th in the list of English footballers. His clubs were Oxford United, Carlisle United, Hull City, Portsmouth, Reading, Darlington and Hartlepool United as well as Gretna in Scotland. Tait also later managed two of these clubs; Darlington and Hartlepool United. Since 2012 he has become a scout for Newcastle United FC.

Benjamin Francis “Ben” Chorley is an English semi-professional footballer who plays as a defender for National League club Bromley.

Chorley started his career at Arsenal, spending several years at the club on youth terms before signing a professional deal in 2001. He spent two months on loan at Brentford at the start of the 2002–03 season. Having made no first-team appearances for Arsenal, Chorley opted to leave the club and sign for Wimbledon in 2003. He continued playing under the club’s new guise in Milton Keynes for a further three years from 2004 to 2007. During his final year at MK Dons, he spent the majority of the 2006–07 season on loan at Gillingham. He left MK Dons in July 2007, and signed a two-year contract with Tranmere Rovers. After two years of regular football at Tranmere, Chorley returned to London, signing for Leyton Orient in June 2009. He made over 150 appearances during his three-and-a-half-year spell at Orient, before signing for Stevenage in January 2013 for an undisclosed fee. In January 2014 his contract was cancelled by mutual consent, so he was free to become Richie Barker’s sixth signing for Pompey. He was released by Portsmouth on 18 May 2015

Lacey Nicole Chabert is an American actress, voice actress and singer. She first gained prominence as a child actress on television for her role as Claudia Salinger in the television drama Party of Five (1994–2000). She has also provided the voice of Eliza Thornberry in the animated series The Wild Thornberrys (1998–2004) and two feature films, Meg Griffin during the first production season of the animated sitcom Family Guy, and superheroine Zatanna Zatara in various pieces of DC Comics-related media. In film she has appeared in Lost in Space (1998), Not Another Teen Movie (2001), Daddy Day Care (2003) and had leading roles as Gretchen Wieners in Mean Girls (2004), and as Dana Mathis in the horror remake Black Christmas (2006).

Chabert has also appeared in eight Hallmark Channel movies, saying “I love working for Hallmark, they’ve been so good to me. I have friends there now. I’m proud of their movies and the message of their movies.”

Keisha Kerreece Fayeanne Buchanan is an English singer-songwriter and was a founding member of the BRIT Award-winning girl group the Sugababes alongside Mutya Buena and Siobhan Donaghy, and later Heidi Range and Amelle Berrabah. With the Sugababes, Buchanan had six number one singles and two number one studio albums, making the Sugababes one of the most successful British pop acts of the 21st century. Buchanan was asked to leave the group in September 2009 and was replaced by Jade Ewen.

On 20 July 2012, Buchanan and her former Sugababes colleagues, Buena and Donaghy confirmed their reunion. The original trio will not be able to release music under the name “Sugababes” as it is still being used by the current members of the group. They will instead release music under the new name, Mutya Keisha Siobhan.

1961 – Nicholas Briggs

Nicholas Briggs is an English actor, writer, director, sound designer, composer and voice actor predominantly associated with the BBC science fiction television series Doctor Who and its various spin-offs, particularly as the voice of the Daleks and the Cybermen. He is also a co-creator of Big Finish Productions, for which he has produced, directed and written several audio plays, as well as acting in many of them.

1980 – Patrick Agyemang

Patrick Agyemang is a Ghanaian former international footballer who played as a striker.

Agyemang began his career at Wimbledon, progressing through the club’s youth system. He was loaned out to Brentford in October 1999 for three months, before returning to his parent club. Agyemang went on to play regularly for Wimbledon for the next four seasons. He joined Gillingham in January 2004, spending ten months with the club. He attracted the interest of Preston North End in November 2004, who signed Agyemang for a fee of £350,000. He spent four seasons at Preston, before joining Queens Park Rangers in 2008. He was part of the QPR team that earned promotion to the Premier League during the 2010–11 season. During the 2011–12 season, Agyemang was loaned out to Championship side Millwall on a one-month loan deal. He was loaned out for a second time in January 2012, this time joining Stevenage on loan until the end of the 2011–12 season. Agyemang signed for Stevenage on a permanent basis in August 2012. In February 2013, he joined Portsmouth on loan for the rest of the campaign. He signed for the club permanently in May 2013, and was released by mutual consent in March 2015.

He has been capped twice by the Ghana national team, scoring one goal.

Zachary Levi Pugh is an American actor and singer. He is best known for playing Chuck Bartowski in the series Chuck. He also appeared in the films Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel, Tangled, and Thor: The Dark World.

Levi starred in the lead role of Georg Nowack in the 2016 Broadway revival of She Loves Me opposite Laura Benanti. The production began previews at Studio 54 on February 19, 2016 and opened on March 17 for a limited engagement through June 12. The run was later extended through July 10, where it then closed. Levi was nominated for a Tony Award for his performance. In 2010, Levi voiced Flynn Rider in the animated film Tangled, in which he performed the duet “I See the Light” with Mandy Moore; the song won a Grammy for Best Song Written for Visual Media. He later reprised the role in the short film Tangled Ever After, and returned to voice Flynn Rider again in a Disney Channel television series based on the film in 2017.

1982 – Amy Williams

Amy Joy Williams MBE is a British former skeleton racer and Olympic gold medallist.

Originally a runner, she began training in skeleton after trying the sport on a push-start track at the University of Bath. Although unable to qualify for the 2006 Winter Olympics, she was a member of her nation’s team four years later at the 2010 Games, and won a gold medal, becoming the first British individual gold medallist at a Winter Olympics for 30 years and the only British medallist of those specific Olympics.
