1929 – Jacqueline Hill

Grace Jacqueline Hill was a British actress known for her role as Barbara Wright in the BBC science-fiction television series Doctor Who. As the history teacher of Susan Foreman, the Doctor’s granddaughter, Barbara was the first Doctor Who companion to appear on-screen in 1963, with Hill speaking the series’ first words. She played the role for nearly two years, leaving the series in 1965 at the same time as fellow actor William Russell (who played the companion Ian Chesterton).

Hill returned to Doctor Who in 1980 for an appearance in the serial Meglos, as the Tigellan priestess Lexa.

1946 – Eugene Levy

Eugene Levy, CM is a Canadian actor, comedian, producer, director, musician and writer. He is the only actor to have appeared in all eight of the American Pie films, in his role as Noah Levenstein. He often plays nerdy, unconventional figures, with his humour often deriving from his excessive explanations of matters and the way in which he deals with sticky situations. Levy is a regular collaborator of actor-director Christopher Guest, appearing in and co-writing four of his films, commencing with Waiting for Guffman (1997).

Levy received the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award, Canada’s highest honour in the performing arts, in 2008. He was appointed to the Order of Canada on June 30, 2011.

1958 – Mike Scott

Michael ‘Mike’ Scott is a Scottish singer, songwriter and musician. He is the founding member, lead singer, guitarist and songwriter of rock band The Waterboys. He has also produced two solo albums, Bring ’em All In and Still Burning. Scott is a vocalist, guitarist and pianist, and has played a large range of other instruments, including the bouzouki, drums, and Hammond organ on his albums. Scott is also a published writer, having released his autobiography, Adventures of a Waterboy, in 2012.

Having begun a musical career in the 1970s that has continued to this day, Scott has been making “extraordinary music” since the 1980s and is well known for his radical changes in music genres throughout what he refers to as his “allegedly unorthodox” career. Scott currently lives in Dublin, Ireland.

Vanessa Anne Hudgens is an American actress and singer. After making her feature film debut in Thirteen (2003), Hudgens rose to prominence portraying Gabriella Montez in the High School Musical film series, which brought her significant mainstream success. The success of the first film led to Hudgens acquiring a recording contract with Hollywood Records, with whom she released two studio albums, V (2006) and Identified (2008). In addition to High School Musical, Hudgens has also appeared in various films and television series for the Disney Channel.

Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. One of the leading contemporary recording artists, she is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage.

Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Swift moved to Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 14 to pursue a career in country music. She signed with the label Big Machine Records and became the youngest artist ever signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house. Her self-titled debut album in 2006 peaked at number five on the Billboard 200 and spent the most weeks on the chart in the 2000s. The album’s third single, “Our Song”, made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Hot Country Songs chart. Swift’s second album, Fearless, was released in 2008. Buoyed by the success of pop crossover singles “Love Story” and “You Belong with Me”, Fearless became the best-selling album of 2009 in the United States. The album won four Grammy Awards, with Swift becoming the youngest Album of the Year winner.

1949 – Bill Nighy

William Francis Nighy is an English actor and voice artist. He worked in theatre and television before his first cinema role in 1981, and made his name in television with The Men’s Room in 1991, in which he played the womaniser Prof. Mark Carleton.

Nighy became widely known for his performance as Billy Mack in Love Actually. Other notable roles in cinema include his portrayal of Davy Jones in Pirates of the Caribbean film series, as well as Viktor in the Underworld film series.

He is also known for his roles in the films Lawless Heart, I Capture the Castle, Shaun of the Dead, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Notes on a Scandal, Hot Fuzz, Valkyrie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1, Rango and The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. His performances were also acclaimed in the State of Play series and in the TV films The Girl in the Café, Gideon’s Daughter and Page Eight, for which he earned Golden Globe nominations, winning one for Gideon’s Daughter.

Raymond “Ray” Daniel is an English former professional footballer. Born in Luton, he began his career with his hometown club Luton Town and later played for Gillingham, Hull City, Cardiff City, Portsmouth, Notts County and Walsall. He made over 250 appearances in The Football League between 1982 and 1997. He helped Portsmouth to the 1992 FA Cup semi final, but they lost in a penalty shoot-out to Liverpool.

Lewis Edward Buxton is an English professional footballer who last played as a defender for Bolton Wanderers.

Buxton began his career with Portsmouth where he progressed through the youth ranks at the club. He gained first team experience with loan spells at Exeter City and Bournemouth. He joined Stoke City in January 2005 in order to find first team football. His time at the Britannia Stadium was hampered by injury and he left for Sheffield Wednesday in October 2008. With the Owls Buxton established himself as a regular member of the team and spent seven years, making 207 appearances.

Lloyd Vernet “Beau” Bridges III is an American actor and director. He is a three-time Emmy, two-time Golden Globe and one-time Grammy Award winner. He is also a two-time Screen Actors Guild Award nominee. Bridges was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on April 7, 2003 at 7065 Hollywood Boulevard for his contributions to the television industry. He is the son of actor Lloyd Bridges and elder brother of fellow actor Jeff Bridges.

Michael Dorn is an American actor and voice artist who is known for his role as the Klingon Worf in the Star Trek franchise.

From his first appearance in the series premiere episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, “Encounter at Farpoint”, to his last in Star Trek: Nemesis, Dorn has appeared more times as a regular cast member than any other Star Trek actor in the franchise’s history, spanning five films and 272 television episodes. He also appeared as Worf’s ancestor, Colonel Worf, in the film Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country.

Following the end of his Star Trek career, Dorn had supporting roles in a number of independent feature films, including Shadow Hours (2000), Lessons for an Assassin (2001), and the Santa Clause trilogy, in which he appeared in a cameo role as “The Sandman”.

1983 – Valery Mezague

Valery Mezague was a Cameroonian footballer. He was a midfielder and last played for Sporting Toulon Var.

A French-born player, Mézague represented Cameroon at international level. His most notable moment with the Lions Indomptables was at the 2003 FIFA Confederations Cup, where he became the starter central midfielder in the lost final against host France, after replacing the late Marc-Vivien Foé during the victorious semifinal versus Colombia.

In 2003, he was involved in a serious car crash which ruled him out of the game for four months. Despite this he fought back to reclaim his form and his performances attracted the attention of Harry Redknapp, with Mézague joining Portsmouth F.C. on loan for the 2004/05 season. However, he failed to make any sort of substantial impression and returned to France in June 2005, where he followed his former manager at Portsmouth Alain Perrin to FC Sochaux-Montbéliard.

He was found dead in his apartment on 15 November 2014 due to a cardiac arrest caused by a heart disease.

Mezague played 14 times for Portsmouth between 2004 – 2005

Emily Jane Browning is an Australian actress and singer.

Browning made her film debut in the Australian television film The Echo of Thunder; subsequently, she played recurring roles in the Australian television shows Blue Heelers and Something in the Air.
