Plot Summary

Rebecca is suspicious of Ernessa, the new arrival at her boarding school. But is Rebecca just jealous of Ernessa’s bond with Lucie, or does the new girl truly possess a dark secret?

Verdict

So is she a vampire or a ghost, or maybe even a vampire ghost? I have no idea. For a film that contained three very nice actresses in Sarah Gadon, Sarah Bolger and more importantly Lily Cole it was rather dull. I got this because of Lily Cole and, even though she is a fine actress, the died hair and eyebrows were very distracting.

Plot Summary

Don Champagne seems to live the American Dream; he has a successful family business selling furniture; he lives in a comfortable house in the suburbs; he has the perfect wife Mona Champagne and the perfect children Allison and Andrew.

However Mona is a cold woman that schedules the days that Don may have sex with her. When Don hires the gorgeous saleswoman Dusty to work with his salesman Les, they have a torrid love affair. Soon Dusty tells to Don that she is pregnant and has the intention of keeping the baby. Don does not have money that belongs to Mona but Les offers to lend some money to him. He offers thirteen thousand dollars to Dusty, but she blackmails him.

Without any way out, Don discloses his affair with Dusty to Mona and she tells that he must kill Dusty to protect their family. But what they do not know is that Dusty is a swindler and lover of a dangerous gangster and his gang wants to take money from the Champagne family.

Verdict

I really like Katherine Heigl, I think she is a fine actress, very hot and does spend a lot of this film in various states of undress. Unfortunately it is just another very poor film she has got herself in. I know it’s meant to be a black comedy but you still need some comedy.

Plot Summary

Alfie Wickers (Jack Whitehall) has taken Class Form K on a school trip to Amsterdam. Unbeknownst to him, Mitchell (Charlie Wernham) had spiked his Crepe with magic mushrooms, causing Alfie to hallucinate, thinking Jing was a panda and was convinced that the Anne Frank dummy was alive, causing him to steal it from the museum (parodying ET) and ends up in a canal.

One year later, the PTA led by Joe’s mum, Susan Poulter, insists that Alfie gets sacked from the school, but Martin Wickers (Harry Enfield) Fraser (Mathew Horne) and Rosie (Sarah Solemani) insist that Alfie is given another chance and that they conduct a surprise visit to the class room. They are unaware that Mitchell tried to do a tattoo on Alfie’s back labelled “CLASS K FOREVER” but only manages “CLA” instead. They burst into his classroom during a game of class wars, which ends with an unfortunate incident with Mrs. Poulter and the class hamster.

Alfie informs the children that they are going on a trip to Cornwall, and he reminisces on a trip to ‘Shagaluf’ with his teenage friends.

Verdict

Although not quite reaching the heights of the amazing TV series this film is a great laugh. Never before have testicles and swans been so funny. Probably very offensive to anyone Cornish.

Mockingjay

Part 2

(2015)

Plot Summary

After Katniss Everdeen, the girl on fire, accepted the role of the Mockingjay, the symbol of rebellion against the autocratic Capitol, she and the rebels of District 13 poises an all out war against them. However, this time Katniss has a personal agenda: assassinating President Snow herself to gain revenge not only for Panem’s sake, but for her own as well

Verdict

I really enjoyed the Hunger Games Trilogy(!), both the films and the books but do feel the last two instalments would of been better off as one film. There is a lot of talking and slow moments that appear there just to fill time. Still a worthy watch though

Verdict

Currently my favourite film. Loaned it many years ago and avoided watching it for as long as I could (arty foreign rubbish I assumed).
Once watched I proceeded to order my own copy straight away. A film to watch when feeling down
