Teresa Mary Palmer (born 26 February 1986) is an Australian actress, writer, and model, best known for her roles in Warm Bodies, Lights Out and Hacksaw Ridge. She starred in, co-wrote and co-produced The Ever After with her husband, Mark Webber.

Palmer was born and raised in Adelaide, South Australia. She is the only child of Kevin Palmer, an investor, and Paula Sanders, a former nurse and missionary. Her parents divorced in 1989 when she was three. She has a stepmother, Kaaren Palmer, as well as two half-sisters and two stepbrothers, who lived with her father. Palmer stated to Interview that she “came from rather humble beginnings”; she lived in public housing with her mother, and grew up on her father’s farm in the Adelaide Hills. Palmer was named after Mother Teresa by her mother, and has stated that she had a “tough upbringing” due to her mother’s manic depression.

Palmer was a student at Mercedes College, a private Catholic day school, and won a local-casting audition, “Search for a Movie Star”, in 2003. Her first acting job was dressing up as Strawberry Shortcake and an elf assistant to mall Santa Clauses on weekends for promotions in shopping centres near Adelaide. Palmer went to acting classes for a couple of years and appeared in a few television commercials. She was a fast-food attendant at Hungry Jack’s in Rundle Mall in 2005, before working at clothing retailers Supré, Mambo Australia, and Cotton On.

After graduating from high school, Palmer got a call from her local-talent agent about appearing in a student film, 2:37. The director had seen her head shot on the acting agency’s website and wanted her to be in the movie. Palmer thought that she would work in an animal rescue service, and eventually open her own animal welfare agency. She was accepted into a university to study teaching and was taking a course on journalism, but had always dreamt of acting. Palmer dropped out of the university to work on the film.

Stephanie Italia Ricci (born October 29, 1986) is a Canadian actress mostly known for playing “Emily Rhodes” in Designated Survivor.

Ricci made her major acting debut in 2007, in the American Pie direct-to-video film, Beta House. She then went on to have a recurring role on the Disney XD series Aaron Stone. Ricci also appeared in the music video “Hate” by Plain White T’s as the ex-girlfriend.

During 2009, Ricci began appearing in American productions with minor roles in How I Met Your Mother, House and Greek. During that same year she had a recurring role in the Comedy Central series Secret Girlfriend as Sasha. In 2010, she co-starred in the Cartoon Network live-action series Unnatural History as Maggie Winnock. She also appeared in a Clean & Clear commercial as herself. In 2013, Ricci appeared in a small role in Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s directorial debut film Don Jon. Also in 2013, she was cast in the lead role of April Carver in the ABC Family series Chasing Life. The series premiered in 2014. On October 2, 2015, ABC Family canceled Chasing Life after two seasons.

Ricci joined the cast of Supergirl in December 2015 as Siobhan Smythe (aka “Silver Banshee”) – the character transforms from Kara’s rival and CatCo mean girl to full-on villain. “I think they do a really good job with telling that story in a way that keeps her honest and doesn’t paint her as a one-dimensional villain,” Ricci says of her character. “You can see that there is still a good person somewhere in there; it’s just she’s choosing to put her away for now.” Ricci is no stranger to the DC universe. Her husband Robbie Amell played Firestorm on The Flash in season one, and Robbie’s cousin, Stephen Amell, is Oliver Queen on Arrow.

Since September 2016, Ricci has starred as Emily Rhodes in the ABC political drama Designated Survivor.
