Jeremy Lee Renner is an American actor. He appeared largely in independent films, such as Dahmer (2002) and Neo Ned (2005). Renner appeared in supporting roles in bigger films, such as S.W.A.T. (2003) and 28 Weeks Later (2007). He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his much-praised performance in The Town (2010).

Renner was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in The Hurt Locker (2008), and he played Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, Thor (2011), The Avengers (2012), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) and Captain America: Civil War (2016). 1955 – Rowan Atkinson

Rowan Sebastian Atkinson, CBE is an English actor, comedian, and screenwriter best known for his work on the sitcoms Blackadder and Mr. Bean. Atkinson first came to prominence in the BBC’s sketch comedy show Not the Nine O’Clock News (1979–82), receiving the 1981 BAFTA for Best Entertainment Performance, and via his participation in The Secret Policeman’s Ball from 1979. His other work includes the 1983 James Bond film Never Say Never Again, playing a bumbling vicar in Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994), voicing the red-billed hornbill Zazu in The Lion King (1994), and featuring in the BBC sitcom The Thin Blue Line (1995–1996). His work in theatre includes the 2009 West End revival of the musical Oliver!.

Atkinson was listed in The Observer as one of the 50 funniest actors in British comedy, and among the top 50 comedians ever, in a 2005 poll of fellow comedians. In addition to his 1981 BAFTA, he received an Olivier Award for his 1981 West End theatre performance in Rowan Atkinson in Revue. He has also had cinematic success with his performances in the Mr. Bean movie adaptations Bean and Mr. Bean’s Holiday, and also in Johnny English (2003), and the sequels Johnny English Reborn (2011) and Johnny English 3 (2018). Gordon Angus Deayton known professionally as Angus Deayton, is an English actor, writer, musician, comedian, and broadcaster. Nicke Kabamba

Nicke Kabamba has joined Aldershot on loan for the rest of the season.

The 24-year-old striker will be looking to help the Hampshire outfit continue their quest for National League promotion.

They currently sit second in the standings, leading the pack chasing table-topping Macclesfield ahead of Saturday’s trip to Dover.

Kabamba joined Pompey from Hampton & Richmond last January and has made six appearances for the club.

He played 10 times for League Two side Colchester during a loan spell in the first half of the campaign.

James Thomas Mulville is an English comedian, comedy writer, producer and television presenter. Mulville is best known for co-founding in 1986 the British independent television production company Hat Trick Productions with Denise O’Donoghue and Rory McGrath (who left in 1992). In 2003, Mulville and O’Donoghue, as co-founders of Hat Trick, were listed in The Observer as one of the 50 funniest acts in British comedy.

1962 – Kenny Jackett

Kenneth Francis Jackett is a former professional footballer and manager of Portsmouth in League One.

A skillful left-footed player, able to play in defence or midfield, Jackett was capped 31 times for Wales, for whom he was eligible through his Welsh-born father. He spent his entire playing career at Watford before his career was ended by injury at the age of 28. Having moved on to the club’s coaching staff, he began his managerial career during the 1996–97 season.

From 2004 to 2007 he was manager of Swansea City, leading the club to promotion and several trophies. He served as Millwall manager for six seasons, again bringing a promotion, before resigning in May 2013; weeks later he took over as Manager of Wolverhampton Wanderers, a position he held until July 2016. He was appointed Rotherham United manager in October 2016 before leaving in November. In June 2017 it was announced he would take over from Paul Cook to become the Portsmouth manager.

Bernard Sumner, also briefly known as Bernard Albrecht, is an English singer, songwriter, musician and record producer. He is a founding member of both Joy Division and New Order, and is widely credited with the latter band’s move towards electronica and synthpop.

Sumner is widely credited in advancing UK dance music, and the popularisation and technological advancement of sequencers. In the early 1990s, he collaborated with former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr as Electronic.

Pompey have signed Wolves duo Sylvain Deslandes and Connor Ronan on loan for the remainder of the season.

Defender Deslandes – who can play at left-back or in a more central role – is a 20-year-old who has represented France up to under-20 level and featured eight times for the Molineux outfit.

Republic of Ireland youth international Ronan, 19, is a midfielder who has played 13 first team games for Wolves.

He has appeared three times for them in the Championship this term, including in away victories at Derby and Burton.

Both players featured for Wolves against Pompey in the under-23 Premier League Cup competition last season.

Blues boss Kenny Jackett said: “We’re short on natural players at the back currently, so Sylvain can hopefully help us continue our excellent defensive record this season.

“Connor’s strength is his creativity, while he also has pace and vision on the ball. He’s someone I rate very highly and has a bright future in the game.

“I worked with both of them during my time Wolves and am pleased to link up with them once again.

“We’ve given them an excellent opportunity to play for Pompey and help us progress during the second half of the campaign.”

Curtis Main

Mutual Consent

Portsmouth Football Club can announce that Curtis Main has left the club by mutual consent.

The 25-year-old striker has now signed for Scottish Premiership outfit Motherwell.

He netted six goals in 23 appearances after arriving at Fratton Park from Doncaster in the summer of 2016.

Blues boss Kenny Jackett said: “We all felt that it was best for his future to take this great opportunity to join Motherwell.

“Various injuries have disrupted Curtis’ time at Pompey, while the arrivals of Brett Pitman and Oliver Hawkins have also limited his time on the pitch.

“But we thank him for everything he’s done for this club and wish him all the best for the future.”

Main played nine times this term, scoring the winner at Charlton to ensure Pompey finished top of their Checkatrade Trophy group.

1944 – John Milkins

John Milkins was an English professional footballer  whose career ran from the start of the 1960s to the end of the 1970s.

Milkins won one England Youth cap whilst with his first club Portsmouth, to whom he was to give 15 years of loyal service . He made his debut for the first team in their very last match in the English First Division, although he was to wait a further two years for his next appearance. In all Milkins was to make over 300 appearances for Pompey and was to prove such a popular player that in 1970 he was awarded the inaugural Player of the Year trophy. The following year he was awarded a testimonial against local rivals Saints which resulted in an ignominious 0–7 defeat. In the 1974 close season he was sold to Oxford United for whom he played sporadically until his last league appearance in May 1979. He then joined now defunct Southern League side Waterlooville and, after two years as first-choice goalkeeper, became player-manager during the 1981-82 season. At the end of that season he retired from playing but continued as first-team manager until December 1983. During his two years as manager of Waterlooville the club were promoted to the Premier Division, reached the final of the Southern League Cup, and reached the first round proper of the F.A. Cup where they played against league opposition for the only time in their history, losing to Northampton Town after two replays. After being replaced as Waterlooville manager by Ernie Bradwell part-way through the 1983-84 season, Milkins then ran a sports shop/ snooker hall consortium.
