Description |
This is the Dave Wateridge homepage which you have probably realised already, constructed using Frontpage and currently hosted by Fasthosts
The title "The Joy Circuit" comes from my favourite Gary Numan song of the same name. It is generally recommended that websites have an easy recognisable title and it sounded better than "The Dave Wateridge Homepage" and the best I could think of at the time. You can listen to a short extract of the song in question by clicking here

Website History |
This site is now on its third location, originally hosted on Geocities but that has limited bandwidth and those horrible adverts. Although the content pages are still there the index has been replaced and now just signposts the current site.

Next I made use of my free BT space which proved much more reliable and advert free and served well, unfortunately my plans for a picture friendly website made the allocated space a bit limiting especially with the purchase of a scanner. The content is still there, albeit in a very old version, but is no longer accessible from the front menu.

The layout was the same on both servers, only the content was updated. A few pictures can be seen below of the old format
This site had a major overhaul in April 2005 incorporating a new colour scheme, heading and the removal of the frames that can be seen in the above pictures. The last modification was taken reluctantly but general consensus seems to be that, although frames look good and allow easy navigation, they are not deemed very professional and do prevent a lot of Search Engines from indexing them.
Further modifications were started in April 2006 to remove "Hover" buttons from all pages, I liked how these looked but on pages with lots of them they frequently did not all show without a repeated refresh. This problem got worse when my own PC refused to work with them unless the button was clicked twice, this was due to a normal Windows XP upgrade as my laptop was also affected and if it happens on my PC it probably happens on others.

Personal History |
No point in going into great details about me as most of my likes and dislikes are covered in the main site. In summary I was born in 1964 and grew up in Bedhampton which is the posh bit outside Portsmouth and should not be confused with Leigh Park where the burnt out cars are.
My ideal women would have Rachael Leigh Cook's face, Katherine Heigl's body and the voice of Amy Acker. I can always hope!.
Discovered very early on that marriage was not for me, at least not with the women I actually married. Obviously she thought the same as she made herself available to half the male population of West Sussex. Almost made 10 years before we split in 1998, why I hung around for so long I will never understand.
My working career consisted of 4 years with the MOD at Portsmouth Dockyard from which Maggie Thatcher kindly made me redundant. I followed that with 1 week at a shit company in Waterlooville before I walked out and spent a year enjoying my redundancy. I spent the next 20 years at the now failed company that is Autoliv AGB. From 10 April I started work at H+S Aviation, if I can survive there for another 20 years it should set me up nicely for retirement!
I have 3 children and am a former manic depressive self harming alcoholic. Still, you have to laugh.
